Mummified orange kitten
Mummified orange tabby kitten with moonstone eyes.
Dry preservation of a male kitten, organs have been removed and cavity has been stuffed with polyfil.
He passed away around 3-4 years ago from Flea Anemia. The foster kept this beloved kitty in the freezer until she eventually came across my work. I'm so glad she reached out, and I was honored to take him in for a permanent memorial.
DEFECTS: He has a minor slit on his left eye that has been fixed with clay. Being frozen for many years did cause this specimen to experience freezer burn (paws &nose), it’s not noticeable but All will reflect the original price for a mummified kitten. These usually go for $300 or more, but because of the defects he will only be $220
Dry preservation care:
Keep dry: High humidity introduces moisture, which can rehydrate the tissue and trigger mold or bacterial rot.
Maintain stable temperature: Keep the specimen away from heat vents, air conditioners, etc. Drastic temperature swings can cause tissue to expand and contract, leading to cracks.
Avoid direct sunlight: Display your specimen in a shaded area. UV rays quickly fade fur pigmentation and break down brittle skin cells.
